This is the 173d Airborne Brigade Rock which stood in front of the Bridge Office in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
The artwork was done by one of our fellow Sky Soldier, Adrian Cisneros. He is a very talented
artist and musician. He was also a member in the band "Lenoir". If you would like more information on the 173d Airborne Brigade you can visit the following link

Not only do we, the soldiers, have fun in our
shop but also our random contractor, Miguel, who always makes
sure to put our Captain in check when need be. Captain Lungren
really can put a whooping on Miguel but on this day she took
mercy on him.
When we first arrived to Afghanistan, Sergeant
First Class Rivera was our Platoon Sergeant for the first month of
deployment. A month later, our shop received the newest addition to our commo family, SFC Chance.
Though at times he may be an a$$hole, he takes care of his soldiers
like no other Platoon Sergeant. He always makes us strive to be
the best we can be and believe in ourselves like he believes in us.
Others whom may look from the outside in, will never know hard he has
worked to take care of us and how much respect we have for him.
The values that he has reinforced within us are ones that we will
carry with us forever. His dedication to his commo shop does not go
unnoticed.
Jason, you may have already seen on "My Friends" web page.
He is also my co-worker. Sometimes we may clash heads and disagree
on things but the fact that we can communicate with one another
as well as we do, is what makes working in our shop so much
fun. Of course, I will never forget Joel, who is also my friend and
co-worker. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture right at this moment
to add. I will update this as soon as I get back to Italy.
Our beloved mascot, Squeakers, was a Taliban Mouse whom
we captured in our shop as he tried to infiltrate our commo shop.
We held him prisoner and converted him to the Commo faith. He was later
released so that he may spread the word of the Commo Gods.
